April Wertz, MSN, FNP-C, earned her BSN from the University of Akron, OH in 2007. She grew up in NE Ohio just south of Cleveland. After graduating, April spent five years in the Army Nurse Corps. She is experienced in Mother-baby, Post-surgical, ER/Trauma, Out-patient Pediatrics, and Inpatient Psychiatric nursing. She earned her MSN with FNP specialty from Radford University in Virginia in 2021.

April treats a full spectrum of patients, from infants to older adults. She has a particular interest in orthopedics and psychiatric disorders. She recently relocated to Rocky Mount from Roanoke, VA, where the rest of her family still resides. April enjoys kayaking, hiking, and spending time with a Chihuahua-mix named Ruby.
