Meet Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson at Rocky Mount Family Medical Center in Rocky Mount, NC

Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson is a medical school graduate of Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio.

Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson has a background in pharmaceutical science, scientific research, grants administration, and space design & planning – the latter of which she studied at Parson’s School of Design NYC‘s branch at the Louvre in Paris France.

Dr. Heater also has specialty training and work experience in Radiation Oncology.
Currently, in the practice of medicine, she is focused on Adult Primary Care Medicine with specialized interests in:

• Addressing the implementation and follow-up on preventative medicine through health maintenance
• Treatment of diabetes, which also involves the screening for dementia as Alzheimer’s disease is also known as Type 3 diabetes.
• Preventative Cardiology, manifested by consultation and early stress testing, echocardiography, screening coronary calcium scores, and healthy lifestyle dietary changes.
• Treatment of CHF, hypertension, sexual dysfunction, and hormone replacement in men and women.
• Other specialized interests include sleep apnea and lymphedema treatment/management.

Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson is passionate about being able to maintain a healthy independent lifestyle for as long as possible and therefore she is driven to affect the patient’s longevity through realistic changes that can be customized for patients based upon their physical and financial abilities.

Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson is passionate about the arts. She enjoys art exhibits as well as the performing arts. As an artist herself, Dr. Heater Williamson enjoys working in various mediums including acrylic painting and batiking, and jewelry design and sales with her daughter.
